Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara Game Reserve
After breakfast at your Nairobi hotel, you’ll be picked up early in the morning to embark on your journey to Masai Mara Game Reserve. If weather permits, you’ll make a stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint to admire the breathtaking scenery of the valley escarpment. Continuing on, you’ll proceed to Narok, a town inhabited by the Masai community, for a refueling stop and a chance to stretch your legs. From there, you’ll head to Masai Mara, arriving in time for a late lunch. Check in to your accommodation and enjoy your first meal in the reserve. Later in the afternoon, set out for an early evening game drive, returning to the campsite for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Full Day in Masai Mara Game Reserve
Following breakfast, set out for a full day of game viewing in the reserve. Explore the diverse habitats of Masai Mara as you search for the iconic Big Five and various bird species, including birds of prey. Enjoy your lunch under the shade of a tree in the open plains, soaking in the beauty of the Mara landscape. After lunch, continue your game drive until the evening before returning to the campsite for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Masai Mara to Lake Naivasha
Begin your day with an early morning game drive, offering opportunities to encounter nocturnal animals and witness the morning activities of antelopes. Return to the campsite for breakfast before packing up and departing for Lake Naivasha. Optionally, make a stopover at a Masai village to learn about their culture (additional cost). Continue to Lake Naivasha for dinner and overnight at the campsite.
Day 4: Lake Naivasha to Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast, embark on a boat ride on Lake Naivasha to admire the lake’s beauty and observe the birdlife and hippos. Visit Crescent Island before returning for lunch. Afterward, proceed directly to Lake Nakuru or make a stop at the Ol-Karia Geothermal Project. Spend the night at one of the budget hotels in Nakuru, where you’ll have dinner and rest.
Day 5: Lake Nakuru National Park to Nairobi
On the final day of your trip, enjoy an early breakfast before heading to Lake Nakuru National Park. Marvel at the sights of buffaloes, waterbucks, impalas, white rhinos, troops of baboons, and velvet monkeys, as well as the stunning presence of white pelicans and flamingos at the pink lake. After lunch and panoramic pictures at Baboon Cliff, exit the park and drive back to Nairobi, where your journey concludes with gratitude to your driver and guide for their efforts throughout the trip.
